Ingredients
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, added to butter)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
Step 2: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well mixed. Set aside.
Step 3: Unroll the crescent dough cans and separate them into rectangles (press the diagonal perforations together to seal them).
Step 4: Brush the surface of the dough rectangles with the melted butter, ensuring even coverage.
Step 5: Generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the rectangles into long strips, about 1 inch wide.
Step 6: Take each strip and twist it several times to create a spiral shape. Place the twists on the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
Step 7: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the warm cinnamon crescent twists are golden brown and slightly crisp on the edges.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Enjoy your warm cinnamon crescent twists while they are still fresh!
Notes
For an extra crunch, sprinkle a little coarse sanding sugar on top before baking.
