  • Total Time: PT10M
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

2 cans (5 oz each) solid white albacore tuna in water, drained
1/2 cup high-quality mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 cup celery, finely diced
1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Drain the tuna thoroughly using a lid or fine-mesh strainer to remove all excess water.
Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, flake the tuna with a fork into bite-sized pieces.
Step 3: In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Step 4: Add the diced celery and red onion to the bowl with the tuna.
Step 5: Pour the dressing over the tuna mixture and gently fold everything together with a spatula until evenly coated.
Step 6: Stir in fresh dill if using, and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving for the best flavor.

Notes

Always drain the tuna extremely well to avoid a soggy salad. Add a pinch of celery seed for an extra flavor boost.
