An incredibly nutritious and delicious smoothie bowl featuring the superfood spirulina, blended with frozen fruit and plant-based milk for a creamy, energizing breakfast or snack.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 frozen banana, chopped
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks (optional, for extra sweetness and tropical flavor)
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk, adjust for desired thickness)
1-2 teaspoons organic spirulina powder (start with 1 tsp and increase if desired)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for enhanced flavor)
Toppings (optional): granola, fresh berries, sliced banana, chia seeds, coconut flakes, a drizzle of honey

Instructions

Step 1: Combine all ingredients (except toppings) in a high-speed blender. Start with 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder.
Step 2: Blend on low, gradually increasing to high speed. Use the tamper tool if your blender has one, to push ingredients towards the blades. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time until it blends smoothly but remains thick.
Step 3: Continue blending until the mixture is completely smooth and has a creamy, ice-cream-like consistency. Scrape down the sides of the blender if necessary.
Step 4: Pour the vibrant green smoothie into a bowl.
Step 5: Garnish with your favorite toppings. Get creative with granola, fresh fruits like berries or sliced banana, a sprinkle of chia seeds, coconut flakes, or a light drizzle of honey. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious and healthy spirulina creation!

Notes

For an even thicker bowl, use less liquid or add more frozen fruit. Adjust spirulina to your taste preference. You can also add a scoop of plant-based protein powder for extra protein.
