Ingredients

2 oz (60ml) good quality Blanco tequila
1.5 oz (45ml) fresh lime juice, squeezed
0.5 oz (15ml) agave nectar (or to taste)
0.5 oz (15ml) water (optional, to dilute or if limes are very tart)
Ice
Lime wedge or wheel, for garnish
Coarse salt for rim (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: If desired, prepare your glass by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into coarse salt on a plate. Set the glass aside.
Step 2: In a cocktail shaker, combine the Blanco tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, agave nectar, and optional water.
Step 3: Fill the shaker with ice, then secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty cold.
Step 4: Fill your prepared, salt-rimmed glass with fresh ice. Strain the chilled margarita mixture into the glass.
