Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Glass and Rim. If desiring a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the rim of your chosen glass (margarita, coupe, or rocks glass), then dip it gently into a shallow plate of coarse salt. Set aside to chill.
Step 2: Combine Ingredients in Shaker. In a cocktail shaker, pour 2 ounces of Blanco tequila, 1 ounce of freshly squeezed lime juice, and 0.75 ounces of agave nectar or simple syrup.
Step 3: Add Ice and Shake Vigorously. Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is thoroughly chilled and frosty.
Step 4: Strain and Serve. Place a cocktail strainer over the shaker and strain the margarita mixture into your prepared, chilled glass filled with fresh ice. For a smoother drink, you can double strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
Step 5: Garnish and Enjoy. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge or wheel. Serve immediately and savor your perfectly crafted simple margarita.
