Ingredients
2 oz Blanco Tequila (100% Agave)
1 oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
0.75 oz Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or good quality Triple Sec)
0.5 oz Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
Ice
Coarse sea salt (for rim, optional)
Lime wheel or wedge (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare your glass. If desired, rim your margarita glass with salt. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then invert the glass onto a shallow plate filled with coarse sea salt. Set aside.
Step 2: Combine ingredients. In a cocktail shaker, add the Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar (if using).
Step 3: Add ice. Fill the shaker about two-thirds full with fresh ice.
Step 4: Shake well. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. You want the outside of the shaker to feel very cold, indicating the drink is well-chilled and properly diluted.
Step 5: Strain and serve. Fill your prepared margarita glass with fresh ice. Strain the cocktail from the shaker into the glass.
Step 6: Garnish. Garnish with a fresh lime wheel or wedge.
Step 7: Enjoy immediately! Sip and savor your perfectly crafted simple margarita recipe.
Notes
For a sweeter margarita, increase agave nectar to 0.75 oz. For a tarter drink, reduce agave nectar or add a squeeze more lime. Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. For best results, chill your serving glass beforehand.
