A creamy, cheesy, and slightly spicy dip made with Velveeta, Ro-Tel tomatoes, and savory sausage. The perfect appetizer for game day.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground breakfast sausage (or ground beef)
32 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
2 cans (10 oz each) Ro-Tel Diced Tomatoes and Green Chilies, undrained

Instructions

Step 1: Brown the ground sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked and no longer pink.
Step 2: Drain the excess grease from the skillet thoroughly to ensure the dip is not oily.
Step 3: Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the cubed Velveeta cheese and the two cans of undrained Ro-Tel tomatoes to the skillet.
Step 4: Stir the mixture constantly until the cheese is completely melted and the dip is smooth and well combined.
Step 5: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or transfer to a slow cooker on the 'warm' setting to keep it melted for guests.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or use the 'Hot' version of Ro-Tel tomatoes.
