Ingredients
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill)
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, and buttermilk. Whisk until smooth and thoroughly combined.
Step 2: Add the minced garlic (or garlic powder), onion powder, fresh chives, fresh parsley, fresh dill (or dried dill), and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl. Whisk again until all the herbs and spices are evenly distributed throughout the dressing.
Step 3: Season the ranch dressing with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Start with 1/4 teaspoon of each and adjust as needed.
Step 4: Cover the bowl tightly or transfer the dressing to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and deepen. For best results, chill for 2-4 hours before serving.
Step 5: Give the dressing a good stir before serving. If it's too thick, add a tablespoon or two of extra buttermilk or milk until it reaches your desired consistency.
Notes
For the freshest flavor, use full-fat mayonnaise and sour cream. If you don't have fresh herbs, you can substitute with dried herbs, using 1/3 of the fresh amount (e.g., 1 tsp dried dill for 1 tbsp fresh dill). Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Stir well before each use.
