2 oz (60ml) Blanco Tequila (100% agave recommended)
1 oz (30ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
0.75 oz (22ml) Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or good quality Triple Sec)
Lime wedge, for garnish and rimming
Coarse salt, for rimming (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: If desired, prepare your glass by rimming it with salt. Run a lime wedge around half or all of the rim of a margarita or rocks glass, then dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse salt.
Step 2: Fill your prepared glass generously with fresh ice. If not using a salt rim, just fill the glass with ice.
Step 3: In a cocktail shaker, combine the Blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur.
Step 4: Fill the shaker with ice. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds, until the shaker is frosty on the outside and the liquid is well-chilled and slightly diluted.
Step 5: Strain the contents of the shaker into your prepared, ice-filled glass.
