A refreshing and vibrant iced matcha latte recipe that brings the café experience right to your kitchen. Perfectly balanced with ceremonial grade matcha, milk of choice, and a touch of sweetness.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1-2 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha powder
2 tablespoons hot (not boiling) water (approx. 175°F/80°C)
1-2 tablespoons sweetener of choice (maple syrup, agave, simple syrup, or honey), optional
1 cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy like oat, almond, or soy)
Plenty of ice cubes

Instructions

Step 1: Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl. This prevents clumps and ensures a smooth iced matcha latte recipe.
Step 2: Add the hot water to the sifted matcha. Using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small electric frother, whisk vigorously in a 'W' or 'M' motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and a thin layer of foam forms on top. This is crucial for a smooth iced matcha latte recipe.
Step 3: If using, stir in your preferred sweetener until dissolved. Adjust to your taste.
Step 4: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour your chosen milk over the ice.
Step 5: Gently pour the whisked matcha mixture over the milk and ice. Watch as the beautiful layers form! For an extra creamy iced matcha latte recipe, you can lightly stir it before drinking, or enjoy the gradient effect.

Notes

For the best results, use ceremonial grade matcha. Adjust sweetness and milk type to your preference. This iced matcha latte recipe is easily customizable!
