Ingredients
1 lb Lean Ground Beef (90/10)
1 cup Jasmine or Long Grain White Rice, rinsed
2 cups Beef Broth
1 small Yellow Onion, finely diced
3 cloves Garlic, minced
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Black Pepper to taste
Fresh Parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: In a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
Step 2: Add the diced onions to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onions are soft and translucent.
Step 3: Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, and oregano. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 4: Add the rinsed rice to the pan. Stir frequently for 2 minutes to toast the rice slightly in the beef drippings.
Step 5: Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and scrape any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Step 6: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid.
Step 7: Simmer for 15-18 minutes without opening the lid. Once the liquid is absorbed, turn off the heat.
Step 8: Let the dish rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a lower sodium version, use low-sodium beef broth. Ensure your lid is tight to prevent steam from escaping.
