Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
2 cups blueberries
2 cups green grapes, halved
2 cups red grapes, halved
1 cantaloupe, medium, peeled, seeded, and cubed
1 honeydew melon, small, peeled, seeded, and cubed
3 kiwis, peeled and sliced
3 oranges, peeled and segmented
1/4 cup fresh lime juice (from 2-3 limes)
2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
1 teaspoon fresh mint, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Begin by gently washing all your fruits under cool running water. For berries, place them in a colander and rinse. For melons, rinse the outside thoroughly before cutting.
Step 2: Prepare the fruits: Hull and slice the strawberries. Halve the green and red grapes. Peel, seed, and cube the cantaloupe and honeydew into roughly 1-inch pieces.
Step 3: Peel and slice the kiwis into rounds or half-moons. For the oranges, use a sharp knife to carefully peel away the rind and white pith, then segment them over a bowl to catch any delicious juice.
Step 4: Once all fruits are prepped, combine them in a very large mixing bowl. Aim for uniform piece sizes for an attractive presentation and easy eating.
Step 5: In a small separate bowl, whisk together the fresh lime juice and honey until thoroughly combined. If your honey is very thick, you can gently warm it in the microwave for a few seconds to make it easier to mix.
Step 6: Pour the honey-lime dressing over the mixed fruits in the large bowl. Gently toss everything together using a large spoon or spatula until all the fruit is evenly coated. Be careful not to mash the more delicate berries.
Step 7: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid. Refrigerate the fruit salad for at least 30 minutes before serving. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld beautifully and ensures a refreshing experience. An hour or more is even better!
Step 8: Just before serving, give the fruit salad a final gentle toss. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if desired, for an extra pop of color and refreshing aroma. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
For best flavor, ensure all fruits are ripe and seasonal. Adjust the amount of honey in the dressing to your sweetness preference. This salad is best enjoyed within 1-2 days, as some fruits may start to soften over time. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
