Ingredients
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium glass bowl, combine the fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Step 2: Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the lemon juice to mellow the raw garlic flavor.
Step 3: Slowly pour in the extra virgin olive oil while whisking vigorously to create a light emulsion.
Step 4: Stir in the fresh parsley if using.
Step 5: Taste the amazing amogio sauce and adjust seasoning with extra salt or lemon juice if necessary.
Step 6: Serve immediately as a dip or marinade, or store in an airtight container for later use.
Notes
For best results, allow the sauce to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving to let flavors meld.
