  • Total Time: PT10M
  • Yield: 1 cocktail 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 oz Jamaican Gold Rum
1.5 oz Puerto Rican Gold Rum
1 oz 151-proof Demerara Rum
3/4 oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2 oz Donn’s Mix (2 parts Grapefruit Juice, 1 part Cinnamon Syrup)
1/2 oz Falernum
1 tsp Grenadine
1 dash Angostura Bitters
6 drops Absinthe (optional)
1 sprig Fresh Mint (for garnish)
6 oz Crushed Ice

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Donn’s Mix by combining 2 parts fresh white grapefruit juice with 1 part cinnamon simple syrup.
Step 2: Add the three types of rum, lime juice, Donn’s Mix, Falernum, grenadine, bitters, and absinthe into a cocktail shaker or blender.
Step 3: Add approximately 6 ounces of crushed ice to the shaker.
Step 4: Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds or flash-blend for 5 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled and frothy.
Step 5: Pour the entire contents (unstrained) into a tall chimney glass or a tiki mug.
Step 6: Top with additional crushed ice if necessary to fill the glass.
Step 7: Garnish with a large, slapped sprig of fresh mint and a maraschino cherry before serving.

Notes

Always use fresh lime juice for the best results. The 151-rum is very potent, so handle with care!
