A tender, flaky white fish recipe featuring a rich garlic lemon butter sauce that cooks in under 15 minutes.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs fresh Cod fillets
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 large lemon, juiced and zested
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Fresh parsley for garnish
Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with olive oil or cooking spray.
Step 2: Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a better roast. Season both sides of the fish with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, and lemon zest until well combined.
Step 4: Arrange the seasoned fish in the prepared baking dish and pour the lemon butter mixture evenly over each fillet.
Step 5: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving.

Notes

Ensure the cod is at room temperature for 10 minutes before baking for even cooking. For a spicy kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter sauce.
