1 lb (16 oz) mini pretzel twists
3/4 cup vegetable or canola oil
1 packet (1 oz) dry Ranch dressing mix
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for heat)
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.
Step 2: In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the vegetable oil, dry ranch seasoning, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
Step 3: Place the pretzels in a very large mixing bowl and pour the spicy oil mixture over them. Toss thoroughly with a spatula to ensure every pretzel is evenly coated with the hot spicy pretzels recipe seasoning.
Step 4: Spread the seasoned pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring the pretzels every 15 minutes to ensure they cook evenly and the coating sets.
Step 5: Remove the tray from the oven and let the pretzels cool completely on the pan. They will become crunchier as they cool. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
Notes
For extra heat, increase the cayenne pepper to 2 teaspoons. For a smoky flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika.
