Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
1/4 cup red onion, finely minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
4 whole wheat burger buns
1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
Sliced cucumbers and red onion for topping
Instructions
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, crumbled feta, chopped spinach, minced red onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Step 2: Gently mix the ingredients by hand until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
Step 3: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties about 1/2 inch thick.
Step 4: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Step 5: Add the patties to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Step 6: Toast the buns lightly and assemble the burgers by spreading tzatziki on the bottom bun, adding the patty, and topping with cucumber and onion slices.
Notes
To keep the burgers from sticking, ensure your grill or pan is fully preheated and lightly oiled before adding the patties.
