Ingredients
1/2 cup mild honey (clover or wildflower)
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Combine the honey and crushed red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Step 2: Heat the mixture until small bubbles begin to form around the edges, but do not let it reach a full boil.
Step 3: Remove from heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar and a pinch of salt if using.
Step 4: Let the sauce steep for 5-10 minutes depending on your desired heat level.
Step 5: Optional: Strain the honey through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean glass jar if you prefer a smooth sauce without flakes.
Step 6: Allow the easy hot honey sauce recipe to cool completely before sealing and storing.
Notes
Store at room temperature for up to 3 months. If the honey crystallizes, gently warm the jar in a bowl of warm water.
