  • Total Time: PT20M
  • Yield: 2 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale

12 oz fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
1 tsp orange zest
1 pinch salt

Instructions

Step 1: Rinse the fresh cranberries in a colander and remove any damaged or soft berries.
Step 2: In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, orange juice, and water over medium heat.
Step 3: Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved and the liquid reaches a gentle boil.
Step 4: Add the cranberries, orange zest, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan.
Step 5: Simmer the mixture for 10-12 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Step 6: Remove from heat and let cool completely; the sauce will continue to thicken as it sits.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes. The sauce can be made up to 3 days in advance.
