Ingredients
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh)
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Instructions
Step 1: In a small, shallow dipping plate or bowl, combine the minced garlic, dried basil, oregano, parsley, rosemary, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
Step 2: Use a small spoon or fork to mix the dry herbs and garlic together until evenly distributed.
Step 3: Slowly pour the extra virgin olive oil over the herb mixture.
Step 4: Let the mixture sit for at least 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the herbs to soften before serving with warm bread.
Notes
For the best results, use fresh garlic rather than the jarred version. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can pulse the dry herbs in a spice grinder before adding the oil.
