1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (optional for extra heat)
1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sour cream until the mixture is completely smooth and free of lumps.
Step 2: Whisk in the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried dill. Ensure the spices are evenly distributed throughout the cream base.
Step 3: Slowly pour in the buttermilk while whisking constantly. Continue adding buttermilk until you reach your desired consistency for the cajun ranch dressing.
Step 4: Stir in the fresh lemon juice, chives, and optional hot sauce. Taste and adjust salt only if your Cajun spice blend was unsalted.
Step 5: Transfer the dressing to a glass jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to fully develop.
Notes
If the dressing becomes too thick in the fridge, whisk in an extra teaspoon of buttermilk before serving.
