  • Total Time: PT22M
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
Lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup of your baked salmon with lemon butter sauce.
Step 2: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 3: Drizzle the salmon with olive oil and season evenly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, pressing the spices gently into the flesh.
Step 4: Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness, until it is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
Step 5: While the fish is baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Be careful not to let it brown.
Step 6: Stir in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest. Whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened and emulsified.
Step 7: Remove the salmon from the oven and immediately pour the lemon butter sauce over each fillet. Garnish with fresh parsley and extra lemon slices.
Step 8: Serve your baked salmon with lemon butter sauce immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

Ensure the salmon is at room temperature for 15 minutes before baking for even cooking. Do not overbake!
